'Modi Sarkar's first impression is very good though the 'team of ministers' are not so great but good...it's better to have a spirited team of average players than an overconfident bunch of star players.

The real question is Can he or rather how much Can he change the system?.....the system that propels Goverment after Government to power....the System where all political parties gets unaccounted funding for elction campaigns...the System that creates obligation for these parties to repay the funding they receive and more often by neglecting/compromising the national interest. It is indeed a herculian task to change the system and I hope the Govt doesnt waste any time trying to change the system.

Instead let them work around the system....and make it redundant....and let the current draconian system collapse under its own weight and pressure. Can the Govt make some bold steps that can positively impact a wide section of India's people and its resources? Not a 'North' or 'South' or 'East' or 'West centric' approach but an India centric approach. Here are my wish list for the next 5 years:

1. A national water resource management policy. All rivers and water resources are natioanlized and form a water grid. Channelize water to the right place at right time for its optimal use.

2. Identify and convert certain percentage of barren/untouched land to agricultural land. 'No change in land use' for these converted land so that it will remain as agricultural land for ever.

3. Do not allow more than three layers between the farmer and end consumer. Government to allow sourcing, preserving/processing and distribution through a PPP model or allow privatisation but regulated.

4. A clear national level 'Waste management' policy and enforcement of the same. Like water resource management policy this one too should be a central Govt perogative and shall not be left to state's discretion. Modern way of processing waste should be part of the policy and central government must not only set the standard/policy but also help the States with implementation and funding.

5. More focus on surface transportation...not just on quantity but also on quality that allows faster mode/means of transportation across the length and breadth of the country for swift movement of goods.

All these are major changes and it requires 'bold' leadership and a clear majority in the decision making 'houses'. With both on your side Mr Modi....Can you....?
